Jackson Gan, president of the Pilipino Manpower Agencies Accredited to Taiwan (PILMAT) , said they expect a demand for more Filipino caregivers due to the decline in the fertility rate and longer life expectancy in Taiwan.

"Nakailang cruise na kami tapos hindi ako nakikinig talaga sa safety drill. So sinabi ko sa sarili ko, now makikinig na ako. Sharon is promoting her “Once In A Lifetime” back-to-back concert with Martin Nievera slated Feb. 11 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. She said it is an honor for her to perform with Martin whom she repeatedly called the Concert King.

The modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) took a big leap during the first 17 months of the Aquino administration, the Department of National Defense (DND) said Saturday.
Based on the DND report, a review of the modernization program showed P16.852 billion was made available for the AFP modernization from July, 2010, to December, 2011, a great improvement from the P33.596 billion that was made available during a 15-year period, or an average of P2.24 billion a year from 1995 to 2010.
A fresh look at past research concludes that people who eat lots of greens and other foods rich in magnesium have fewer strokes -- a finding that supports current diet guidelines.
But because the research focused on magnesium in food, the authors stopped short of recommending that people take a daily magnesium supplement. It's possible that another aspect of the food is responsible for the finding.
