Joey Marquez ready to face Kris Aquino anew

Now that he’s back in the Kapamilya network and about to host an entertainment-documentary show, actor Joey Marquez highlighted that he “will do his work,” even if it means interviewing his former flame Kris Aquino.

Marquez’ new show, "Showbiz Inside Report," will see him co-hosting with Carmina Villaroel, Janice de Belen and Ogie Diaz.

In Push.com’s Jan. 27 report, Marquez emphasized that he won’t evade anyone in his upcoming show, and that includes his ex-girlfriend Aquino.

“As a talk show host, you have to be versatile. The personal emotions should be set aside. It’s the work that counts not the emotions. Anything that people would want to hear, to… know, I’ll do it—regardless who it is,” said he.

It was back in 2003 when their roughly over a year-old affair hit a turbulent streak, which saw a sobbing Aquino revealing on national TV that Marquez allegedly pointed a 9mm gun at her. She also said that she acquired STD (sexually transmitted disease) from the comedian-host. Although it was reported that found their way back in each other’s arms three months after her big confession, months later, the two were said to have parted ways for good.

Now, however, when asked about his willingness to face Aquino, Marquez responded with, “Depende if the person allows. Ako naman willing kasi sabi ‘ko naman it’s all work. There are no boundaries when it comes to work. I’d like to exceed the expectations of the network kung ano’ng gusto nilang gawin ‘ko.”

According to him, he believes that there won’t be any awkwardness on his part in the event that he goes face-to-face with the Queen of All Media again.

“Trabaho lang naman ‘eh, so lahat ng pwede 'kong interviewhin kung pumayag, thank you very much. Kung hindi, I understand that. I’m not doing it for my personal interest, I’m doing it for the interest of the public, who would like to know what’s happening,” said the former Parañaque City mayor.

As a host, he said that she show’s guest list is beyond his control.

“Sabi ko I will just abide what they want me to do in such a way na I can modify it for the viewers’ pleasure. It all depends on the other party kung gusto magpa-interview,” he explained.

Asked to describe the status of his relationship now with Aquino, Marquez’ response was: "I can see she is really happy right now and I would like to leave it this way."
