HOMEMADE ANTI-DANDRUFF TREATMENTS

Dandruff is another common and annoying hair ailment which hairdresser and stylists agree is the most common hair problem of all. Truth to be told, poor hygiene and dirty hair aren’t the only culprits that cause dandruff. Dandruff is due to the excessive shedding of dead skin cells from the scalp. It is normal for skin cells to die and flake off, however some people experience an unusually large amount of flaking, which can also be accompanied by redness and irritation. Dandruff is actually caused by yeast that leaves in the scalp. Weather changes can also bring on dandruff. In any event, most cases of dandruff can be easily treated with therapeutic shampoos. Here are some easy-to-follow home made anti dandruff preparations which help us get rid of dandruff.

Anti-dandruff egg treatment

Take the egg white of a single egg and one tablespoon of lemon juice. Beat the egg white and mix the lemon juice into it. Apply to your hair and leave to sit for an hour before shampooing and rinsing your hair.

Anti-dandruff vinegar treatment

Take two tablespoons of vinegar and half a bucket of water. After shampooing your hair, apply the mixture of vinegar and water onto your hair and gently rinse. The downside is the vinegar will leave a smell on your hair until your next rinse, but many people swear by its power.

Mountain Climbing

Mountain climbing can be an exhilarating, rewarding and life changing experience. Although climbing a mountain can be one of life's greatest accomplishments, it is more than panoramic views, the satisfaction of reaching the summit, or a true wilderness experience. Mountain climbing is a great challenge that involves risk, danger, and hardship. Mountain climbing is not for everyone, although some can find it irresistible, as well as frustrating and sometimes even deadly. There are qualities to mountain climbing that bring inspiration and joy in a pursuit that is more than a pastime or a sport; it is a passion and sometimes a compulsion. A distant view of a mountain may speak of adventure, but the mountains only hint at the joys and hardship that await the climber. Climbing a mountain takes much preparation, knowledge and skill. The mountain climbing environment is indifferent to human needs and not everyone is willing to pay the price or able to survive the hardship in exchange for the physical and spiritual rewards the experience can provide.

Although there is a lot of planning and preparation in climbing a mountain, the rewards are priceless. Reaching the top of a mountain can be one of the most amazing and inspirational experiences one might accomplish. All of the hard work along the journey can be truly rewarding. For many, climbing becomes addictive. After the first climb and all the glory that comes with it, many seek higher mountains and bigger challenges, hence larger rewards and more satisfaction. Climbing a mountain is no easy task, however, it is an adventure worth seeking.

Mind Your Mobile Manners

The mobile industry wants as many people as possible to enjoy the benefits of mobile telecommunications and encourages individuals to use their mobile phones in a responsible manner and to be considerate and aware of situations where using their mobile phone might annoy others.

1. When in doubt, always go out
When possible go outside or to another room to make your call if your call might disturb others. Also, features such as text messaging answering services, call diversion and vibration alert can be used to receive important calls without disturbing others.

2. If you can't turn it off, use silent mode
If you need to keep your phone on for important calls, then turn it to silent or vibrate mode. It's the ring of a mobile phone in inappropriate places and times such as at the tennis or in restaurants which annoys people the most.

3. When required turn your phone off and check it's off
There are some places where people should never talk on a mobile phone or send text messages and where the ringing of a mobile phone or message alert is considered highly unacceptable, such as: movies, stage shows, weddings, funerals, concerts, speeches, classrooms and lectures. In these cases, turn your phone off and remember to check its off before you enter the venue. You can always check your voicemail, text messages or your answering service afterwards.

4. Keep your conversations private
Peoples sense of personal space varies in each situation. Making a call in a busy pub may be okay, but talking loudly in a confined space like a lift or on a train tends to infringe on others personal space. Be aware of where you are and who you are with and what others are doing before deciding to make or accept a call. In some situations it might be better to send a text message.

5. Speak softly
Mobile phones have very sensitive microphones that can pick even the softest voice, so there is no need to shout. If you are having trouble hearing the other caller, check that you have the volume on your phone set high enough.

6. You don't always have to answer- use your messaging service
It's a natural reflex to answer your phone if it rings, however, if you forget to put your phone on silent or vibrate mode and it rings at an inappropriate moment, send the call to voice mail or your answering service (usually by pressing the hang-up key).

7. Talk to the one you're with
If you receive a call during a conversation, send the call to your voicemail or answering service. Your first priority should be to the person you are with. However, if you are expecting an important call let the person you're with know before the call arrives and excuse yourself before accepting the call.

8. Don't send inappropriate messages
Messaging is a great way to communicate, but don't send offensive or threatening text, voice, picture or any other sort of message, because it is a criminal offence to use a mobile phone to menace or harass someone. Also receivers can save messages and easily identify you as the sender.

9. Respect others' privacy when using in-phone cameras
In-phone cameras shouldn't be used anywhere a normal camera would be considered inappropriate, such as in change rooms or toilets. You should ask for permission before you take someone's picture. Also bear in mind that some venues do not allow the use of cameras and may refuse entry to anyone with one.

10. Ban the ring: not the phone
Wherever conversations are normally acceptable, venues can help by asking people to turn their phones to silent or vibrate mode rather than turning it off. This approach will help with compliance, especially for people who need their phone for important calls. Venues can also assist by reminding people to set their phones to silent mode, before they enter.

Taking Digital Pictures

One of the major differences between average photographers and professionals is that the pros spend a lot of time thinking about composition while amateur’s just point and shoot.

I am trying to learn how to take pictures using my digital camera and my sony ericsson phone. I don't know how to compose my shot before. I learned that composition is important because it helps set the mood for the shot and tells a story. It can also be used to evoke an emotional response from the viewer. If you keep composition in mind whenever you look into your viewfinder, it will eventually become second nature to you.

The pictures below are the photos I took at Mayo Bay Park and Beach Resort in Mati, Davao Oriental yesterday. I am hopeful to move out of the amateur ranks and turn to pro in photography :)

How to change the default location of program installation?

You might want to change the location of your system default folder (C:\Program Files) from C drive to another system drives (D or E drive). By default software setup will attempt to install program in C:\Program Files directory. It is good practice to make the backup of the installed programs, if you installed all your programs in other than C drive. If you have little knowledge about editing windows registry then you can configure your computer for this purpose.

Follow the given steps to configure windows registry:

First click on Start button then type Regedit in Run option.

Here locate the location to:

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion

Danger Signs To Watch Out For

"Ninety percent of people who die by suicide suffer from a treatable psychiatric disorder, most often depression," says Paula Clayton, MD, medical director for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Here's how to recognize the symptoms of serious depression - either in yourself or in someone you know - before it's too late.

In Yourself

Something feels wrong: You're less happy, less motivated, and less you than you used to be.

High anxiety: You are constantly stressed, wake up frequently during the night, and feel worse in the morning. This goes on for weeks or months at a time.

Sleep problems: Nearly everyone has trouble sleeping at some point. But if you used to snooze well and now you can't get through the night or conversely, if you sleep all day and can't drag yourself out of bed, it could be depression, especially if you have some other symptoms as well.

Apathy: You have lost interest in things you used to love, like food, fashion, or sex.

Suicidal obsession: You are preoccupied with death or suicide stories or contemplate, in detail, how you'd kill yourself.

How To Get Help

- Tell someone immediately - a parent, a friend, anyone you trust.
- Contact your doctor, who can refer you to a psychiatrist.
- If you're in college, try the campus health center or counseling service.
- Or, call the Suicide Prevention Hotline in the Philippines - the Crisis Line is free and confidentiality is guaranteed - at (02)893-7606 and 893-7603.

In Someone Else

You notice some of the symptoms listed above; also keep an ey out for sign like these.

Booze and drug binges: Your two-beer-a-week pal is suddenly downing a bottle of wine a night.

Slobbiness: A decline in grooming - such as looking like she hasn't seen a hair brush in weeks - is a danger sign.

Resignation: Comments like "Why bother living?" or "Nobody cares about me" or "There's no point in going to work. My life is crap!" can be cries for help.

Absences: Repeatedly not showing up to work or class, or signals like dropping off the social scene can be cause for alarm.

Hypotheticals: It's one thing to talk about suicide in the abstract. But, mentioning a specific suicidal plan - "I'd take five sleeping pills and jump off a bridge or a building" - is a huge red flag.

How to Get Help
-Tell your friend you're worried about her. If she does admit to having suicidal feelings...
- ... take her to the ER if suicide seems immenent.
- If it's not urgent, help her make an appointment with a doctor, a couselor or therapist.
- If she refuses, call her family or a suicide- prevention hotline.

How to manage the compatibility issues of Office 2007 to earlier office versions?

By default all Microsoft Office 2007 applications use the different files extensions than the earlier versions. All earlier Office applications used the file extensions as .doc, .xls and .ppt for Word, Excel and PowerPoint respectively, but now Office 2007 applications uses the .docx, xlsx and .pptx file extensions for Word, Excel and PowerPoint respectively. These all new file extensions are not compatible with all previous versions of Office applications, that is why Office 2002 and Office 2003 applications cannot open and read the .docx, xlsx and .pptx file extensions.

However, you have an option in Office 2007 to save the files with in older files extensions, But if you are frequently using the older versions of the file and also if the files created by you are to be shared on other computers which have earlier versions of Office, you may want to save all your new documents in the older format, but that would create duplicate files.

There is better option in Office 2007 applications to change the default saving file format to the older format and then the new file format in Office 2007 will be changed to .doc, .xls and .ppt for Word, Excel and PowerPoint respectively.

Follow the given steps to set the default older file format for Word 2007:

First click on Start button, go to Program then click on Microsoft Word 2007 to run the word application.

Now click on File menu in the top left corner then click on Word Options button to change the default word options.

In the left side panel, click on Save option, and now "Customized how documents are saved" option will appear in right side panel.

Here find the "Save File in this format" option and click on drop down box to select the different format. Now you will find many options here, select the Word 97-2003 Document (*doc) option.
