60 agencies receive ISO certifications

President Benigno S. Aquino III lauded Tuesday the 60 government agencies which have attained ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) in their respective offices, noting that the public is regaining its confidence on the government as it sees more reforms in place.
In his speech during the 3rd Recognition Ceremony on government organizations with ISO 9001:2008 QMS certifications, Aquino thanked government agencies which have attained the said ISO certification, underscoring its professionalism and dedication to public service.
“Pataas man nang pataas ang kompiyansa nating umasenso, hindi po tayo titigil sa puspusang pagtatrabaho [While there is increasing confidence on our economic growth, we will not stop in pursuing more efforts to work for the public],” he said.
“Kaakibat ng iginawad sa inyong pagkilala ngayong araw, magsilbi rin sanang hamon at inspirasyon ito upang patuloy kayong magpamalas ng katangi-tanging pamamahala at epektibong pagtupad sa tungkulin [May this recognition also serve as a challenge and inspiration to carry on with your effective governance and fulfillment of your duties],” he added.
ISO 9001, developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), promotes the adoption of a process approach when developing, implementing, and improving the effectiveness of a quality management system.
Executive Order (EO) No. 605 signed by then President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo on February 23, 2007 directed all government agencies to adopt ISO 9001:2000 QMS, which is now ISO 9001:2008.
