Pia Hontiveros To Anchor Solar Network News
Pia Hontiveros is ready to host Solar Network News after honing 22 years of experience in journalism. Hontiveros started her career as a journalist in September 1989. She had her baptism of fire when she covered the bloodiest coup d’état the country has ever seen back in December 1989.
“I’m looking forward to this new adventure,” Hontiveros said. “What a journey it has been and what a journey it will be; that’s how I look at my career in journalism.”
Solar Network News is the first local evening newscast that will air on TALKtv. Hontiveros, along with veteran newscaster Jing Magsaysay, hosted Solar News’ special coverage of the recently concluded Impeachment Trial of the Chief Justice.
Solar Network News airs Monday to Friday at 6 p.m. on TALKtv. TALKtv is seen on Sky Ch. 16, Global Destiny Ch. 28, Cignal Ch. 21, and Cablelink Ch. 12 with its live maiden broadcast on June 18 at 6 p.m.
