BJMP computerizes records of inmates

To fast-track the cases of inmates, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) is working on compiling all the lists of inmates in the country, complete with their personal information and status of their cases, then encoding the data in their computerized records.
Based on the directive given by BJMP Chief Director Rosendo M. Dial, all wardens in the country should update their lists of inmates and submit them to their central office for compilation and inclusion in the bureau’s com-puterized records.
The computerized record shall serve as a database for the BJMP to determine the actual number of inmates inside a certain jail facility. Since updating its list of inmates, the Manila City Jail Records Division discovered that it has the largest number of inmates in Metro Manila at 3,979.
Manila City Jail Warden Senior Supt. Ruel Rivera said the computerized records of the BJMP are helpful for jail officials to learn about the cases of the inmates under their care. There, they could look at the inmates’ profiles and get all their personal information.
