Jolina and Mark exchange 'I do's' in private wedding ceremony

Singer-actress Jolina Magdangal and Rivermaya drummer Mark Escueta exchanged marriage vows in a very private ceremony held at the Splendido Taal Golf and Country Club in Tagaytay City, Cavite, Nov. 21.

“Ikinasal na ngayong araw ang magkasintahang Jolina Magdangal at Mark Escueta.  Very private ang wedding ceremony na ginanap sa isang sa lugar sa Tagaytay,” Pia Guanio reported on “24 Oras” on the same day.

Guanio added, “Sa katunayan naging matipid sa impormasyon sina Jolina at Mark kaugnay ng paghahanda sa kasal at ang mismong wedding. Nitong June lang in-announce ng dalawa sa ‘Party Pilipinas’ ang kanilang engagement.”

In a report posted at PEP on the same day, Jolina excitedly walk to the altar while the song “Moonriver” was being played. The couple initially planned to write their marriage vows but was unable to do it.

“Ikaw ang pinakamagandang regalo ni God," Jolina said to Mark during the exchange of vows.

She continued, "Sabi ko, sasabihin ko na lang kung anong nararamdaman ko para sa iyo. Lahat ng nandito, lahat ng in-invite natin dito, alam nila kung gaano kita kamahal."

Jolina even cracked a joke. “Pagpasensiyahan mo na kung minsan naghihintay ka ng limang oras dahil nasa banyo ako. Kung matangkad at mestiza lang ako, promise three minutes lang ako sa banyo. Pasensiya ka na kung minsan, ang daldal-daldal ko."

Mark shed tears when he recited his vows.

"Ikaw ang nag-ilaw sa buhay ko," he told Jolina with tears cascading on his face.

He promised Jolina that “mamahalin kita habang buhay at araw-araw...Ikaw ang buhay ko. Mula ngayon, para sa iyo ang lahat."

Among the couple’s guests, according to the PEP report, were Gibo Teodoro, Ronnie Puno, and Franklin Drilon, Celia Rodriguez, Mel Tiangco, Arnold Clavio, Jaya, Beverly Vergel, Judy Ann Santos, Angelika dela Cruz, Kyla, Rich Alvarez, “Party Pilipinas” mainstays Rachelle Ann Go, Jonalyn Viray, Aicelle Santos, Maricris Garcia, Diva Montelaba, Gian Magdangal, Sheree.

Also present were Anne Curtis, Tuesday Vargas, LJ Reyes, Max Collins, Paolo and Suzi Abrera, Rhea Santos, Wilma Doesnt, Nikki Valdez and Kaye Abad.

A picnic-style reception followed after the Christian garden wedding.

Last Nov. 19, Bulletin Entertainment and two other tabloid reported about the secret wedding of Jolina and Mark on Nov. 21. Only BE, however, specifically named the venue of the wedding, Splendido Taal.
