Fil-Mexican Jessica Sanchez Picked To Win 'Idol' Season 11

Jessica Sanchez inched closer to “American Idol” title after advancing to the Top 12, as announced on reality show’s season 11 on March 8 (March 9 in Manila).
Jeremy Rosado was voted out, leaving Hollie Cavanagh, Colton Dixon, Heejun Han, Skylar Laine, Phillip Phillips, Deandre Brackensick, Erika Van Pelt, Joshua Ledet, Shannon Magrane, Jermaine Jones and Elise Testone with Sanchez in the running for next week’s round of performances.
The Filipino-Mexican contestant of AI 11 earned another standing ovation from judges Steven Tyler, Jennifer Lopez and Randy Jackson during the show’s performance night held March 7.

The Top 13 tackled Stevie Wonder (boys) and Whitney Houston (girls) catalogs for their pieces.
Sanchez’s rendition of Whitney’s “I Will Always Love You” earned her the highest praises from the judges.
“Jessica Sanchez is legit. Let me tell you something. This is one of the hardest songs in the world to sing. You not only are the best vocal of the night, I think you are one of the best singers of this whole competition. Oh my God!” Jackson said.
Lopez, seemingly overjoyed by the 16-year-old singer from California, urged the audience to cheer some more for Sanchez.
“Just, just amazing. I don’t even know what to say. I’m speechless. I’m speechless when you did those last three little things, we were right there with you,” she said.
“I think you were even surprised that you were sobbing. I was like, oh my God! That was when I felt Whitney. Oh my God yes! It was beautiful Jessica! You are so talented. God bless you!” Lopez exclaimed.
Steven Tyler, on the other hand, aired his fearless forecast. “Jessica... you may be the one. You just made 40 million people cry.”
Jennifer Hudson, who sang “I Will Always Love You” as a tribute to the late Whitney Houston in this year’s Grammy Awards, reacted positively to Sanchez’s performance.
“Yes Jessica! That’s it!!” the “Idol” alum posted on Twitter.
Before the show ended, host Ryan Seacrest asked the judges to name their top two performances. It came as no surprise that Sanchez was a constant pick on their list.
Claiming how Sanchez owned the night’s performances, Tyler said: “My favorite stand-outs of the night were Jessica Sanchez... and Jessica Sanchez.”
Meanwhile, Sanchez is also the top pick of a US magazine to win this season’s “American Idol.”
Entertainment Weekly named her the number one on the “Power List” for this week, followed by Phillip Phillips and Skylar Laine. Colton Dixon and Joshua Ledet complete the Top 5.
