Chase For 6/55 Lottery Pot, Now P228M Is Still On

Long lines are expected on Wednesday in lottery outlets as the frenzy and chase for Grand Lotto 6/55's jackpot seen at about P228 million for Wednesday, is still alive after the 279th draw produced no winner of the P213.77-million bonanza.
The last draw conducted by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) at its Draw Court in Pasay City, where the public is allowed to watch, came up with the winning combination of 20-37-35-27-50-42.
PCSO's concurrent manager for publicity, General Manager Jose Ferdinand M. Rojas II, said bettors still have the chance to win the projected P228 million prize in the next draw.

It was learned that 6/55 had only yielded to 12 bettors since its introduction in April 2010 as replacement for the unpopular Power Lotto, a complicated lottery targeting the upper class of society with its P50 per bet.
One of the 6/55 winners still has to claim the P72.5 million prize money which the bettor won on Sept. 28, 2011 by betting on the drawn combination – 27-12-07-28-08-21.
PCSO's Charter says winners of its lotteries have 365 days to claim their winnings. Unclaimed prizes are transferred to the agency's Charity Fund, it said.
Wednesday's draw of 6/55 will be the 12th since its jackpot on Jan. 14 breached the century mark, the 31st since it started with the guaranteed, or start-up, P30 million prize on Dec. 30 last year, and the 280th overall draw since its first ever draw on April 19, 2010.
Meanwhile, the PCSO registered the second lotto millionaire in the month of February, with the winner hitting Mega Lotto 6/45's jackpot of P4.9 million (34-05-29-23-11-08) on Feb. 3.
Rojas said last Friday and Monday, a 28-year-old bagger of a brokerage firm in Zamboanga City and and a 25-year-old security guard in Benguet Province claimed their winnings at the PCSO in Pasay City, worth a combined P32,527,321.20. The bachelor bagger won P28,027,321.20 on Jan. 31 in the draw of Lotto 6/42 (02-05-18-28-36-38).
He only had a P10 bet for one combination of 6/42, using random numbers he chose, Rojas said.
He said the security guard, married with two children, had a five-combination bet worth P50 on Feb. 1, one of them matching 6/45's drawn numbers 09-03-40-16-27-28, which offered the guaranteed, or start-up, prize of P4.5 million.
