3D experience, without the glasses

With 3D movies enjoying a strong resurgence and with mobile phone and dual screen hand helds becoming the rage in its heels, is does not come at a surprise that laptops would soon jump in and join the three-dimensional fray. So when Toshiba came out with its new gaming laptop, the Qosmio F750, it hardly startled me that was a 3D. What surprised me, however, is that you do not have to wear 3D glasses to enjoy the three dimensional experience.
The Qosmio series has long been Toshiba’s line of gaming laptops. The series began in the year 2006 and continues to provide hardcore gamers and AV/multimedia enthusiasts with the top of the line hardware in a mobile package.
Coated in smudge-free glossy red color, the F750 has an intimidating appearance. It is large, by today’s laptop standards, and is fitted with the latest ports for maximum usability. Its huge 15.6” 1080p high definition screen is enough to make my jaw drop with awe.
Toshiba complemented the screen with Harman Kardon speakers lined above the full keyboard. Another attention catcher is its glistening exterior. From its cover, down to the sides of the screen, and even the hand rests, everything seems to shine.
Hardware-wise, the Qosmio F750 offers the latest hardware packed and running its cogs. With the latest 2nd generation i7 for its processor, a GeForce GT 540M as its video card, and 6GB of RAM to boot, the F750 is a lean mean gaming machine that doubles as an all-around multimedia player.
Picture yourself bringing this to school or to work and definitely, you’ll make heads turn in envy.
Probably the F750’s greatest attribute is its capability to deliver three-dimensional experience without the need to wear 3D viewing glasses. Having claimed the throne as Toshiba’s first laptop to sport this feature, the unit itself is already a slice of history. The F750’s glasses-free 3D surprisingly works in a simple manner. One can open any video file through Toshiba’s own multimedia player. With the click of a button, the clip turns into 3D. The laptop can do this by observing the viewer through the webcam, and then calculating the angles to produce a 3D motion picture. Though it’s a mouth-watering feature, it takes time to get used to as it can be a discomfort at first. But the ordeal is all worth it when you’re watching your favorite films in high-definition and in 3D.
When it comes to gaming, the F750 is a dependable buddy capable of running even graphic extensive games such as Crysis 2. Not only is the laptop capable of playing them, but doing so in very high quality of graphics and sounds. As an added perk, the laptop can also play and run games having 3D functionality.
The Toshiba’s Qosmio F750 is undoubtedly one of the most impressive laptops that I have ever seen and handled. The 3D glasses-free feature is enough to make movie enthusiasts drool at the amazement of the crisp images, and exceptional audio.
