Kim and Bea kiss and make up

The animosity between Kim Chiu and Bea Alonzo is over after the former initiated the move to smoke the peace pipe recently.

Before 2011 wrapped up, Kim, who was a few steps away from Bea in an event, mustered enough guts to approach Zanjoe Marudo’s girlfriend and said “Hi!”

Kim’s reconciliatory gesture was warmly received by Bea, who nevertheless was surprised at the former’s decision to approach her. Prior to that, they have always avoided each other when they were both in events or in a show like “ASAP.”

“Actually, hindi naman kami nag-away. There was just some awkward moment between us,” Kim reportedly told a friend.

Apparently, Kim wanted to start 2012 with a clean slate and forget past grudges.

That “awkward moment” seems to have stemmed from rumors last year that Bea and Gerald Anderson, Kim’s reel and real partner, became an item.

Although both Bea and Gerald had not really admitted to the relationship, those in their private circle believe that they were indeed a couple for some time.

Just as the coupling rumor started heating up, Kimerald fans seemed to have vented their collective ire on Bea. Some openly expressed their disgust on social networking site. Bea was bashed and even received threats.

That, apparently, took a toll on the budding romance between the two. In the end, rumor had it that Bea and Gerald broke up while they were in London for a show.

Although they were not really close friends, Bea’s rumored romance with Gerald distanced her from Kim.

And that, too, signaled the collapse of the Kim-Gerald tandem. Gerald was paired with Jessy Mendiola in “Budoy” while Kim was partnered with three leading men in “My Binondo Girl,” Matteo Guidicelli, Xian Lim and Jolo Revilla.
