Genelyn: We have Ramgen's laptop but no sex video

Genelyn Magsaysay, mother of slain actor Ramgen Revilla, admitted Wednesday that she has the laptop allegedly containing the sex videos of Ramgen and his girlfriend, Janelle Manahan, that was leaked on the Internet last week.

Speaking to ABS-CBN's Umagang Kay Ganda, Magsaysay said the laptop is one of Ramgen's possessions that was not taken by the police after the actor's murder last October 28.

She, however, said they could not use the laptop since they do not know Ramgen's password.

"Ang telepono po wala sa amin. Ang laptop nasa amin pero naka-lock yung laptop. Wala po kaming access. Basta ang alam po namin yung laptop na yun wala pong nakakaalam nung password ni Ramgen. Maaaring alam ni Janelle ang password. Si Ramgen masyado yang mahigpit, very private na tao," she said.

Magsaysay denied that she or her children uploaded the sex video from Ramgen's laptop.

She also said she has no intention of watching the sex video, which went viral on Facebook last week.
"Hindi ko po napanood at wala akong balak dahil ito po ay anak ko at ayaw ko makita ag anak ko sa ganitong sitwasyon. Dapat malaman ng mga tao hindi po namin magagawa iyon sa aming mga anak. Masakit na ang loob naming mag-iina. Wag naman nila bastusin ang kamatayan n Ramgen," she said.

Ramgen was murdered by a masked attacker inside the Magsaysay home in ParaƱaque last October 28. His girlfriend, Manahan, was also shot in the face during the attack but survived the incident.

Manahan has linked several of Ramgen's siblings, including younger sister Ramona and brother Ramon Jacinto, to the killing. Ramona fled the country last year after revealing that she had lied to the police about being kidnapped immediately after Ramgen's murder.

Genelyn changed statement

Manahan's lawyer, Argee Guevarra, meanwhile said Genelyn's admission bolsters the theory that it was her family that uploaded the sex video on the Internet.

"If only members of the Bautista household, including Ms. Genelyn Bautista, have access to Ramgen’s laptop...the legal conclusion could only be that she – or any of her children – were responsible for uploading the sex videos in social networking sites and in various websites," he said.

Guevarra said Genelyn's admission is different from her earlier statements that her family did not have Ramgen's laptop.

He said Genelyn's daughter, Gail Bautista, had already admitted that their family is in possession of Ramgen’s laptop but said as an excuse that they could not access Ramgen’s files supposedly because it was password-protected.

The lawyer said the release of the sex video was meant to malign Manahan after she testified that Ramgen's siblings were linked to the murder and that Ramgen's mother had mental problems.

"It was just to get even with Janelle because the Bautista family was deeply hurt when the mother was depicted as schizophrenic," he said.

Facebook post deleted

Guevarra said Manahan had admitted that the sex video was authentic and had been taken by Ramgen. He said the sex video was uploaded to Ramgen's laptop before Manahan asked the actor to delete it. He said Manahan does not know if the video was copied in other storage devices.

Manahan, thru her counsels, disclosed that she noticed a post two weeks ago on Genelyn's Facebook wall of what she perceived as a veiled threat.

The post read: “Janelle, wait until the world knows who you really are."

The Facebook post was later deleted immediately after the sex video issue became  headline news.

Guevarra said his client also received "belligerent and hostile statements" via Facebook from Ramlyn Bautista, another of Magsaysay's children, before the sex video came out. He said that after the sex video came out, the Facebook messages to Janelle changed from "threatening" to "conciliatory."
