Charice confirms having a house in the US

 Like world-famous Pinoy boxer Manny Pacquiao, Charice has her own house in the United States.

“Yes, opo. Nahihiya naman tuloy ako,” Charice was quoted as saying by abs-cbnnews.com during her live studio interview on “Bandila,” Oct. 24. This was after interviewer Boy Abunda suddenly asked her, “May bahay ka na sa America?”

But Boy didn’t stop there. He immediately followed up with, “Marami ka ng pera?” to which Charice just laughed and said “Hindi ko po alam.”

While it is widely-known that Pacman’s house, the same house that hogged headlines last month after a failed burglary attempt, is in Los Angeles, Charice did not mention where hers is located nor did she directly mention that she had bought it.

Asked how she fares against her American contemporaries, Charice said, “I think masasabi ko po na hindi naman po ako nagta-try na sumabay sa kanila kasi gusto ko po talaga na maging ako lang.”

“Gusto ko pong marecognize ako ng mga tao do’n as a singer from Asia, not an Asian singer trying to be an American artist,” she added

Now that she’s a renowned celebrity who spends most of the time thousands of miles away from home, constant communication with friends and family keeps Charice grounded.

“I mean, of course, minsan nagpupunta naman po doon [sa US] si mommy [Racquel Pempengco], pero ‘pag wala po sila doon, nag-uusap kami online and lagi ko naman po silang kausap ang lagi nila akong pinapaalalahanan,” said she.

More, she admitted to still getting starstruck when meeting other celebrities such as Demi Lovato and David Archuleta.

"Kasi parang minsan tinitingnan ko lang sila sa picture, ta’s all of a sudden nakikita ko na [sila],” she said.
