Top 16 Government Hospitals in Metro Manila
Department of Health named 16 Government Hospitals as having “Malinis [Clean], Mabango[Fragrant] environment, facilities and equipment following a six-month campaign to boost their image before the public.
These hospitals were chosen based on their polished floors, dust-free walls, clean linens, well-kept kitchen utensils, food conveyor, food warmer and office equipment, and clean parking spaces. The DoH also checked the hospitals' odor, proper waste segregation, lighting, ventilation, and water supply.
The Gold Awardees (90-100%):
1. Philippine Heart Center
2. National Children's Hospital
3. Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center
4. East Avenue Medical Center
5. Lung Center of the Philippines
6. Rizal Medical Center
7. San Lorenzo Ruiz Women's Hospital
Silver Awardees (76-89%):
1. Las Piñas General & Satellite Trauma Center
2. Philippine Children's Medical Center
3. San Lazaro Hospital
4. National Center for Mental Health
5. Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital
6. Tondo General Hospital and Medical Center
7. Dr. Fabella Memorial Hospital
8. Dr. Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center
9. Philippine Orthopedic Center
Health Secretary Enrique Ona said that they aimed to make the project semi-annual and challenged hospitals not only in Metro Manila but also in other regions to "improve our facilities for better health outcomes... provide the best healthcare to the Filipino people."
