Eastern Visayas hit by 5.9-magnitude earthquake
A moderately strong earthquake measuring 5.9-magnitude on the Richter scale jolted parts of Eastern Visayas Tuesday evening and was followed by a weak tremor Wednesday.
The tremor was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) at 8:55 p.m. Tuesday that originated 55 kilometers (km) northeast of Mercedes, Eastern Samar.
