DBM Settles P6.92B In Teachers’ Arrears

Thousands of public school teachers may soon enjoy higher benefits from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) after the Aquino administration finally agreed to pay overdue contributions from 1997 to 2010.

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has committed to settle P6.92 billion in unpaid premiums of Department of Education (DepEd) personnel, representing government share in the past 13 years, while the GSIS will condone P14 billion in interest charges.

Tourism Sector Will Get Bulk Of Infrastructure Budget For 2012

The national government has lined up several programs and projects to make the Philippines one of the most vibrant tourism destinations in the world and hit its target of ushering in 4.6 million tourists this year.

Budget and Management Secretary Florencio B. Abad said that much of the P182.2 billion government infrastructure program for 2012 will be used to build airports, roads and bridges that are instrumental in attracting tourists to visit the various attractions in the country.

DepEd working round the clock to ensure 100% release of Christmas bonus before December 25

Public school teachers have started getting their Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI) as the Department of Education (DepEd) continues to monitor its regional offices nationwide to ensure that teachers receive theirs in time for the holiday season. The P10,000 PEI is commonly referred to as the Christmas bonus.

DBM Proposes P11.68-B for Addt’l P10K PEI Bonus for 1.67M Gov't Personnel

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has proposed to President Benigno S. Aquino III an additional holiday bonus of P10,000 to 1.67 million government personnel in the form of a Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI). Secretary Florencio B. Abad said that this proposal will cost P11.68 billion in total.
