Angelica’s Diamond Ring From John Lloyd?
First a car, now a ring.
Netizens’ eyes were on the diamond ring on Angelica Panganiban’s ring finger, as seen on a photo of her left hand which she posted on Instagram last Sept. 7. Its accompanying caption, however, bore no mention of the stunning piece: “Shooting... Bagay pala ang long nails sakin. Pero d ko ma maintain! Masyadong pa gurl.”
Many wondered if the ring was a mere accessory for the shoot or if it was a special present from her rumored new love John Lloyd Cruz. Angelica hasn’t posted a response on the matter as of this writing.
Curiously, diamonds was the subject matter during John Lloyd’s guest appearance with onscreen leading lady Bea Alonzo on “Kris TV,” aired Sept. 7. Host Kris Aquino queried the two on the gifts they wish to give to and receive from each other, in celebration of their 10th anniversary as love team. John Lloyd revealed that Bea wants a pair of diamond earrings.
This prompted Bea to say, “Kasi tumitingin siya! Meron kaming kakilala, nago-offer ng mga diamonds. Tumitingin siya.”
John Lloyd, who was initially caught off guard with Bea’s revelation, gave his take on giving jewelry to the opposite sex.
“‘Pag sa lalaki, ang jewelry ‘pag binibigay napaka-intimate niyan eh,” said he.
Just several days ago, Angelica posted an inside-the-car photo collage on Instagram, one of which was a Mercedes Benz logo impressed on the driver’s wheel. Reports subsequently surfaced that she received from John Lloyd a posh white Mercedes Benz worth a whooping P5.1 million.
Despite being bombarded with questions about Angelica, John Lloyd would rather not talk about his love life right now out of respect to his anniversary celebration with Bea, adding that discussion on such a personal matter “deserves a better timing.”
When Korina Sanchez sought his reaction via DZMM Teleradyo on Tuesday about him being seen holding hands with Angelica at the recent Star Magic Ball, John Lloyd joked, “CG (computer graphics) [‘yun].”
He went on to explain, “Kung anuman ‘yung nakikita nila, wala naman kaming nililihim, wala naman akong nililihim, wala namang masama. Ang sa’kin lang, hindi pa ito sa tingin ko ‘yung tamang panahon para sa amin. Respeto lang din.”
