PAGASA: Metro Manila on Red Alert Status
As of 9 p.m. Monday, PAGASA has upped the rainfall alert level from green to Red due to "heavy to intense" rains.
“An accumulated rainfall of 83.5mm was recorded over Quezon City and 63.5mm over Marikina for the past 3hrs,” the state weather bureau said via their official Twitter account.
Heavy to intense (10.0 to 30.0 mm/hr) rainfall over the rest of Metro Manila was recorded, it added.
Among the cities that were declared in red alert status include Manila, Mandaluyong, San Juan, Quezon City, Marikina, Taguig, Paranaque, Pasig and Pasay.
The incessant rains are caused by southwest monsoon.
