Good and Bad Aspects of Exercise
Physical activity, or exercise, can be good, or it can be bad. Doctors say exercise can cause a heart attack, or it can protect the heart from such an attack. They say the difference between causing an attack or protecting against an attack has to do with how often a person exercise. Research groups found that change of suffering a heart attack increases during sudden physical activity for people who do not normally exercise. They say the chance of heart attack during heavy exercise is two to six times greater in those people than when they are taking part of a less strong physical activity.
The researchers listed some kinds of exercise that the strong enough to cause a heart attack. These include running, playing competitive sports, swimming, cross-country skiing. Cutting down trees or climbing up and down a ladder.
The researchers say people who do not exercise regularly should begin to do so, then slowly increase their level of activity. People older than 35 who have high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, or a family history of heart problems should design an exercise program with the doctor.
