Friend Reveals How Angelica-JLC Romance Began
A friend of actress Angelica Panganiban has revealed that the actress and her current boyfriend John Lloyd Cruz have been friends long before their relationship turned into romance.
“Even before po naman mag-start po ‘yung shooting nila for the ‘24/7 [in Love]’ na movie, isang barkada na po talaga sila. Kumbaga parang lumalabas sila with different common friends. Pero hindi po ‘yung barkada na sobrang tight po na barkada eh.
“Pero this time po, n’ung nasa Vietnam, siguro ‘yun po ‘yung nag-give way na magkausap sila ng mas masinsinan,” Kevin Samson told “The Buzz” in a taped interview aired on Nov. 4.
According to a report on ABS-CBNNews.com, “24/7 in Love,” which was shot in Vietnam and is Star Magic's 20th anniversary offering, is Cruz and Panganiban’s first onscreen project as a “love team.”
In a separate interview with Panganiban aired in the same report, the actress said that she felt the “connection” with Cruz, “habang nagku-kwento ‘ko, nagshe-share ako ng mga experiences.”
“Nagulat ako na may lalaking gano’n, na pakikinggan ka hanggang matapos mo ‘yung kwento mo. Ayon. Ta’s parang na-enjoy ko, na-enjoy ko ‘yung kwentuhan,” said she.
Samson added that Cruz has also tried to win over not only Panganiban’s affections, but her family’s and friends’. It turned out that the actor makes it a point to spend time with the actress and her family during weekends.
“Every week, mini-meet niya po ‘yung mga importanteng tao sa buhay niya. D’un nga po nag-originate ‘yung ‘Perfect Sunday,’” Samson said, referring to his friend’s now famous Instagram post. “Kasi as much as possible po, ‘yung Sunday talaga for Angel po, family day.”
John Prats happy for Angelica
Meanwhile, actor and Panganiban’s best friend John Prats has expressed happiness over her newfound love. It turned out that, according to the “Buzz” report, Prats and Cruz reportedly had a “gap” after the former's breakup with Shaina Magdayao, who then became Cruz’s girlfriend.
“‘Yung friendship namin ni Angelica is really unconditional. Siyempre iisipin ko na bakit naman ako magagalit sa taong nagpapasaya sa taong mahal ko rin,” Prats said.
Prats revealed that he was able to have a “very brief” talk with Cruz during the last Star Magic Ball, where he asked Cruz to not hurt his best friend.
“Mabuting tao naman si Lloydy. Alam ko naman na si Angelica ay kaya naman niyang dalhin ‘yung sarili niya. Nandito lang naman ako bilang kaibigan,” said he.
