Robredo’s Widow Recquires ‘Black’ In Mag Feature

The widow of the late DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo has agreed to grace the cover of a lifestyle magazine for women on the condition that she’d only don clothes in black. Her first time to have agreed to do such a feature, the pictorial was also participated in by her daughters Aika, Patricia and Jillian.
In a report on “TV Patrol” Oct 23, Atty, Leni Robredo talked about Christmas and what they’d be doing to cope with losing her husband who died in a plane crash a couple of months ago.

“Ano bang gagawin namin sa Christmas para wag kami masyadong malungkot? Every December 25 we spend it in the Missionaries of the Poor in Naga. Yun ang gagawin namin pero pagiisipan lang namin how to be more creative to contain our grief,” she said.

Leni is running for congress, representing Camarines Sur. Though still grieving, she said she’ll give her best if elected.

“Everyday I still ask my self kung ano bang ginagawa ko dito, mahirap tanggapin pero naniniwala naman tayo sa, sa paggalaw ng kamay ng Panginoon. Gagawin ko yung lahat ng makakaya ko para pagbutihin 'yun.”

Meanwhile, Leni denied talk that she had allowed Jillian to pursue a career in show business. Recall that TV host-actress Kris Aquino even offered a few months back to help Jillian learn the ropes in the industry if the latter gets the go signal from her mom.

“I am still very protective of her parang, natatakot ako kasi baka maengganyo lalo. Babyng baby ko yan. I told her that let’s talk about it again if you can take care of yourself already and I hope it will not be for the next ten years,” Leni said, laughing, though admitting later that she sorely misses her husband.
The magazine featuring Leni and her brood will be out by December.
