P90-M 6/55 jackpot seen Monday

Long lines are expected at various lotto outlets as Grand Lotto 6/55 is offering to the lucky punters about P90 million on its 267th draw today, Monday.
Grand Lotto's Saturday draw with P84.5 million at stake by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) did not yield any jackpot winner.
PCSO General Manager Jose Ferdinand M. Rojas II said Sunday eight bettors had near misses, getting five of the six-number winning combination of 53-30-15-51-01-33.
He said the eight near-miss bettors will get P150,000 each as consolation prize.
As a result of the non-winning draw, Rojas said the 6/55 jackpot for Monday's draw is projected at P90 million, depending on the turnout of ticket sales from 5,424 lotto terminals or outlets nationwide.
Rojas said Mega Lotto 6/45 on Friday produced the second millionaire in 2012 when it yielded P4.6 million to a lone bettor who placed a bet – 01-12-11-41-17-36 – in Scout Albano, South Triangle, Quezon City.
He said 6/45 was also the first to produce a millionaire this year on January 4, giving off the P6.8 million prize.
Remeliza "Liza" Jovita M. Gabuyo, assistant general manager for On-Line Lottery Sector (PCSO-OLLS), sees the 6/55 jackpot breaching P100 million after three non-winner draws.
"If there would be no winner Monday, then the projection is the jackpot breaking P100 million after two more draws without winners," said Gabuyo.
Of the four PCSO major lotto games, Grand Lotto is the most difficult to win because of its one in 28.99 million odds.
It produced its first instant multimillionaire on May 12, 2010, when a lone winner grabbed the P134.6 million jackpot for getting all the drawn numbers of 42-27-29-12-39-31.
On November 29, 2011, Grand Lotto yielded the country's biggest on-line lotto jackpot so far, P741.17 million won by a 60-year-old Filipino-American engineer on vacation in Philippines.
He placed five "Lucky Pick" bets worth P100 at the Royal Duty-Free Shop inside the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) economic zone in Olongapo City, one of them matching the winning numbers, such as 11-16-42-47-31-37.
In a "Lucky Pick" system of betting, the lotto computers are the ones providing or selecting the number combination for the bettor.
Though there a number of Lucky Pick jackpot winners, figures from the PCSO showed that a big majority of the lotto major winners based their number bets on family birth dates and other important family occasions.
