'Showtime' hosts show their support for evicted judge Ryan Bang

Despite his controversial eviction Saturday, “Showtime” judge Ryan Bang received overwhelming support and love from his colleagues in the show.
The Eviction
After 48 weeks of being part of "Showtime," the “madlang people”—the audience inside the studio as well as the show’s viewers—voted out Ryan, the longest running “hurado” or judge with a total of 25.63% of audience and text votes.
The unexpected eviction of the Korean judge rendered hosts Anne Curtis, Vice Ganda, Vhong Navarro, Karylle, Billy Crawford, and Kim Atienza emotional during the episode; as well as other hurados Dimples Romana, Jhong Hilario and evicted judges Andrei Felix and Jeffrey Tam, who were also in tears when Ryan openly wept onstage.
However, just before the show ended, hurado Dimples announced she was giving up her seat as a judge so Ryan could be reinstated, effective Monday. According to her, she’s set to leave the show the following week anyway to start taping for her upcoming soap.
Dimples' decision received varying reactions on various social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook as people sympathized with Ryan over his eviction and lauded Dimples’ decision. Others, however, reacted negatively and thought that Ryan shouldn’t resume his post as hurado as doing so would be a “clear disregard” to the voice of the public who voted him out.
Dimples’ ‘self-eviction’
In a taped interview aired on “The Buzz” on Oct. 9, Dimples explained her decision.
In line with this, Dimples appealed for the understanding of the audience with regard to the eviction drama.
It has rules and we respect that, I respect that. Ako nag-react lang po ako bilang tao dahil naramdaman ko na nasaktan si Ryan,” said she.
Vhong’s two cents
If Dimples explained the nature of her gesture, “Showtime” co-host Vhong Navarro, in a separate taped interview, shared how they consoled Ryan after the eviction.
“Una kay Dimples, ‘yung ginawa niya kanina iba, and nirerespeto at ginagalang namin ‘yun,” he began.
Anne talks about ‘Showtime’ as a family
Meanwhile, co-host Anne Curtis, in a live interview on “The Buzz,” shared what she felt upon hearing Ryan’s name as one of the evicted judges in their most recent episode.
“I think na nakita ng lahat ng nanood ng ‘Showtime’ yesterday how deeply sad we all were,” said the "No Other Woman” star.
She continued, “Tears were overflowing on the show and nakita ng lahat ng sumusuporta sa ‘Showtime’ how affected all the hosts, the staff, the madlang people and the hurados… they were all affected talaga kasi syempre we also consider him as part of the family.”
Vice on being a ‘nanay’ to Ryan
Perhaps the one who wept the most over the eviction was Ryan’s “Nanay,” comedian-host Vice Ganda who recalled in a separate live “Buzz” interview how his friendship with Ryan bloomed.
“Inang ina talaga ako ni Ryan Bang,” the “Gandang Gabi Vice” host said.
He explained, “Wala kasi siyang pamilya rito, ‘di ba? …‘Yung nanay niya nasa Korea [at] wala rin siyang masyadong kaibigan.
“Hindi na nga ako maka-chika ng mga lalaki dahil nakabuntot na rin siya,” he even said in jest.
After what happened, Vice was able to realize how attached he really is to Ryan.
Ano pa kaya kung totoong nanay ka at kadugo mo yun?” said he, adding, “Ang hirap maging ina.”
As of this writing, Ryan has not yet commented on the matter.
