A Raincoat That Keeps You Dry, Purifies Water to Quench Your Thirst

Raincatch is more than a raincoat.

The garment designed by Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design students, Hyeona Yang and Joshua Noble, collects rainwater and purifies it to make it drinkable.

Rainwater is collected from the coat’s collar and passed through a filtration system that involves charcoal and chemicals to make the water potable—and stored around the hips.

Wearers can don the coat in a storm to keep his/her inner outfit dry, while storing water.
