Feb 25 is a Holiday to Mark EDSA I Uprising
There will be no classes on all levels in all public and private schools on February 25 in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the 1986 EDSA people power revolution, a Radyo Inquirer report said.
Radyo Inquirer, quoting MalacaƱang, said that the 25th will be a regular working day for employees. However, the Palace has urged employers to allow their employees to leave early on that day.
The 1986 EDSA people power revolution led to the proclamation of President Benigno Aquino III’s mother, Corazon Aquino, as the 11th president of the Philippines after democracy was restored to the country following the 14-year martial rule of dictator Ferdinand Marcos.
