Tropical depression ‘Onyok’ to become a storm
Tropical depression “Onyok” is expected to intensify into a storm within the next 24 hours, weather bureau PAGASA said on Tuesday.
PAGASA officer-in-charge and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Undersecretary Graciano Yumul said the tropical depression, last spotted 1,170 kilometers (kms) east northeast of Basco, Batanes, is expected to gain strength within the next 24 hours and stay within the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) until Thursday.
