Comes Final Fantasy XIII-2


Following the story of Lighting, this sequel to the series is what everyone's been waiting for. FFXIII-2 now returns and continues the epic story it left off.
The lead character, Serah, is Lighting's sister. She doesn't have the great strength of Lightning, but at least she's not as annoying as FFXIII's Vanille. She's very girly though and Noel, accompanies her all throughout.

Pagcor studies new gaming concept


The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (Pagcor) is studying the concept of running its own Internet gaming that will cater to overseas customers, an official of the state gaming agency said.
In the Senate Committee on Games and Amusement hearing, Pagcor Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Cristino Naguiat said Pagcor is considering leveling up from entering the online gaming community, stating that the agency could generate at least P500-million initial revenue.

Mario's name used to be "Jumpman"

Mario's first appearance in a video game was in 1981's Donkey Kong. We now know of Donkey Kong as a star of his own games, but in the original Donkey Kong game, Donkey Kong was the villain who kidnapped a damsel in distress. Mario, whose name was "Jumpman" back then, had to rescue the damsel by jumping over barrels that Donkey Kong would throw at him.

Students Build Fruit Ninja Simulator

Since our rise from the primordial ooze, mankind has wanted one thing and one thing only: the ability to play Fruit Ninja inside of a little white room while using our hands as swords. That goal, friends, has been met and surpassed. I present to you Fruit Ninja in the CAVE, a version of Fruit Ninja played entirely in virtual reality.

The system uses 3D motion tracking along with a 5.1 sound system and “buttkickers in the floor” along with haptic feedback using a Wiimote. Students Thiemo, Alex, Matze and Moritz made the project in FH-Wedel’s Cave Automatic Virtual Environment (CAVE).
