Kris Waiting For Papers Declaring Her 'Single'

The claim of an independent senatorial candidate that Kris Aquino is his spouse is apparently as outrageous as it is impossible—legally speaking.
The TV host-actress revealed via her morning show “Kris TV” on Wednesday that although her marriage with star cager James Yap was annulled last January, some matters still need to be settled.
Prior to the revelation, guest co-host Sen. Chiz Escudero teased her that he hasn’t met her supposed husband, 52-year-old Daniel Magtira, who wrote “Kris Aquino” as his wife in the certificate of candidacy he filed before the Commission on Elections on Oct. 2.

He likewise claimed that he’s a rock star and aspiring recording artist. And for his occupation, Mr. Magtira wrote “Talentadong Pinoy,” which happens to be a talent search program in TV5.
“You know nagulat talaga ‘ko… My God… Ang weird lang talaga,” Kris said of "spouse" claim.
She then explained, in a more serious tone, “Mali ‘yan, kasi meron pa pala akong isang papeles na kulang. Pinaalala ng mga lawyer ko sa’kin…”
The presidential sister divulged that she is yet to receive a certification from the National Statistics Office (NSO) “that I’m really single.”
“Yeah, I have my annulment but I feel ayaw ibigay. Siguro sinabi ni PNoy (President Noynoy Aquino), ‘’Wag niyo ibigay para ‘wag na ikasal ulit.’ Totoo, wala pa talaga ‘yon!” she said, laughing.
Although the ex-couple’s division of property has been settled amicably, Kris said, “Hindi pa tapos ‘yung total na hatian namin. Kasi meron pa kaming tatlong property ni James na dalawa do’n sa kanya, isa sa akin.”
She answered in the affirmative when Sen. Chiz asked if those properties are under both her and James’ names.
“At meron pa kasi akong kailangang i-settle. Isa do’n Filinvest, so thank you Filinvest. Tinutulungan nila ako na maayos ‘yon,” Kris added.
Kris filed the “petition for the declaration of nullity of marriage” before a Makati court on August 2010, five years after she exchanged vows with James in a civil ceremony.
