Judy Ann Santos to put up learning centers for Aetas
Judy Ann Santos has apparently been an ardent supporter of the Aeta community in Zambales for many years now, and she wants to further her cause by helping with their education.
“’Yun ang inaasikaso ko ngayon, and unti-unti, nangyayari naman. May mga kinausap na kami na mga puwedeng mag-asikaso sa paggawa ng mga learning centers. Tsine-check na lang namin ‘yan every week kung ano na ang development,” she was quoted as saying in an interview posted on Interaksyon.com, June 1.
The actress, who turned 34 last May, added that members of the community who had the opportunity to attend school expressed willingness to join her endeavor.
“Marami naman sa community ang nakapag-aral na, and they want to share their knowledge sa ibang mga bata roon. Kaya dasal ko na matupad lahat ‘yan.
“Isang magandang birthday gift ito sa akin every year na may isang batang Aeta na makapag-aral,” she added.
It was in 2003 when Judy Ann started helping the Aeta community.
“Tuwing birthday ko, nagdadala ako ng pagkain at mga regalo para sa kanila. Doon na rin ako nagpa-party,” she related.
This year, however, Judy Ann and her family, mother, and in-laws went on a six-day trip to Singapore – a gift from his husband, actor-host Ryan Agoncillo.
Nevertheless, the community’s welfare continues to be in Judy Ann’s priorities, saying, “Marami pa akong gustong gawin for their community. And God-willing, matutupad ko lahat ‘yan para sa kanila.”
