Derek Ramsay, Angelica Panganiban part ways

With Derek Ramsay confirming the end of his relationship with Angelica Panganiban, it has once again been proven that nothing lasts forever even with five years behind them – already a long time in today’s relationship standards.

Ramsay confirmed their separation, albeit indirectly, through Twitter on May 14.

“Guys we truly appreciate all ur concerns. Even though angel and I are no longer together we still have the utmost respect for one another,” his post read.

In a separate tweet, Ramsay said, “I'm not proud of the breakup! How I wish things were different. I can't be selfish and consider only my feelings.”

Just a couple of weeks ago, the TV host-actor told Yahoo! OMG Philippines that they are “giving each other space” and clarified that their problem wasn’t caused by a third party. Recall that Ramsay is being linked to former “Pinoy Big Brother: Double Up” housemate Sam Pinto, and Panganiban to Kapamilya actor John Lloyd Cruz.

“If things go well, okay. But if not, she will always be my friend,” he was quoted as saying.

As of 12:30 P.M., Tuesday, Ramsay in his latest tweet insisted, “I don’t know her,” when asked about Pinto.

Ramsay and Panganiban had been together for so long that they often addressed questions about marriage in their interviews. In one particular video clip aired on “The Buzz” on July 2010, Ramsay said as quoted in a PEP article, “I've always said from day one, if [marriage is] what you [Angelica] want, that's what I will give. I think it's definitely just around the corner but what we are right now, I'm very very much happy, very much in love...

“One day, maybe all our efforts will pay off and we'll have a couple of little Ramsays running around,” he said, adding that this has been the “most serious” relationship he’s ever had.

More recently, in a Push.com interview published in February this year, Ramsay expressed anew hope to settle down with Panganiban.

Meanwhile, in the same “Buzz” interview, Panganiban related, “Ang laki ng pagbabago ng relationship namin. Na parang noong una, katuwaan lang. Hindi naman namin alam na magiging ganito kami kaseryoso sa isa't isa. Sa dinami-rami ng mga pinagdaanan namin, sa dinami-rami ng mga away na pinagdaanan namin, ang sarap tingnan ng dalawang tao na masayang-masaya ngayon.”

The actress has yet to address Derek's confirmation as of this writing.
