Julia Montes Rises To Stardom
It’s hard to think Julia Montes once pondered over leaving showbiz. At 17 and only after a year in showbiz, Julia’s dream of stardom has taken shape.
The formula that ABS-CBN made for Julia following “Mara Clara” proved successful with her casting in “Walang Hanggan,” which stars the newbie alongside Coco Martin, Dawn Zulueta, Richard Gomez, Helen Gamboa and Ms. Susan Roces.
“After ‘Goin’ Bulilit’ puro guestings lang ako noon, and I thought hard kung para sa akin ba talaga ang show business. And then ‘Mara Clara’ came for me and Kathryn (Bernardo). Tapos, lahat nagbago na. Minsan hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala na nangyari yun sa akin,” Julia said.
Julia appeared in the movie “Way Back Home” and is now filming for Star Cinema’s summer movie “The Reunion,” opposite Enrique Gil, Jessy Mendiola and Enchong Dee. Julia is also joining Star Magic’s 20th Anniversary US Tour in Hawaii on March 30.
Deaf And Mute Parents
Julia admitted that her parents are deaf and mute.
Her father (a German, whom she hasn’t seen but would like to meet one of these days) and her mother were penpals. They have long been separated.
“I’d really like to see my father someday,” she said. “But a common friend of my parents said my father is now very sickly. No, we don’t know where he is right now.”
