Sen. Bong condemns Janelle-Ramgen intimate video controversy, wants NBI probe

Sen. Bong Revilla Jr. denounces the leakage of his half-brother Ramgen Revilla and girlfriend Janelle Manahan’s intimate video on various social networking sites just before New Year.
“Sobrang pambababoy ang ginagawa nila sa kapatid ko. Karumal-dumal na nga ang pagkamatay ni Ramgen, sinisira pa nila ang pagkatao.
“Mas grabe pa ang pambababoy na ginagawa nila kay Janelle. Grabe na ang kanyang pinagdaanan, at pilit pa nilang niyuyurakan ang pagkababae nito ngayon," Revilla said in a press release posted on PEP, Jan. 3.
A video that shows the couple sharing “intimate” moments while inside a bathroom made the rounds on Twitter and Facebook Thursday last week. Argee Guevarra, one of Manahan’s lawyers, has already “confirmed” that his client was indeed the woman in the video.
He also accused Ramgen’s family of uploading the video and “blackmailing” Janelle prior.
More, in a separate report on abs-cbnnews.com posted on Tuesday, Guevarra said, “We already knew that there are videos of her and we expected this.
“It was just to get even with Janelle because the Bautista family was deeply hurt when the mother was depicted as schizophrenic.”
With this, Revilla has called upon the National Bureau of Investigation, “na magsagawa ng imbestigasyon at arestuhin ang mga nagpakalat ng video dahil sa paglabag sa Anti-Voyeurism Law of 2009 (RA 9995), ang batas laban sa hindi otorisado at walang pahintulot na pagpapakalat at pag-upload ng mga video,” as stated in the release.
According to the same, RA 9995 Section 4 prohibits taking photos or recording videos of a person engaged in sexual acts or the like, “gayundin ng anumang maselang bahagi ng katawan nang walang pahintulot ng mga taong kinukuhanan.
“Ipinagbabawal din ang pagkopya, pagbenta, pagpapalabas at pagkalat ng mga ganitong klaseng larawan at video kahit pa pumayag ang mga taong nasa larawan o video na sila ay kuhanan.”
Revilla, who co-authored said law, made it clear that “every person who downloads, copies and sends the video is guilty of committing the offense, regardless if they were the original uploaders.”
Anyone proven guilty will face three to seven years in prison and a fine amounting up to P500,000.
Bautistas deny charges
Meanwhile, Genelyn Magsaysay has rebuffed the allegation that someone from her family uploaded the malicious video.
According to abovementioned abs-cbnnews.com article, the Bautista matriarch claimed that they no longer have access to Ramgen’s electronic gadgets since his death in October.
“Kung makita man namin iyon [video], mas lalo naming itatabi. ‘Di namin ilalabas iyon dahil kawawa naman ang anak ko. Patay na ang anak ko nasisira pa," she was quoted as saying.
She added, “Ganon kasakit ang ginagawa niyo. Kung sino man ang may pasimuno nito mananagot kayo sa Panginoon.”
Their lawyer, Jose Caringal, said that all of the elder Bautista’s belongings have already been turned over to the police. However, Guevarra’s partner Atty. Luke Espiritu contradicted this claim.
“That is absurd. Why will the police spread the sex video? What's their interest? Why would they sabotage their own case?” Espiritu said in the same abs-cbnnews.com story.
He asserted that the Bautista siblings “have opportunity because they still have access to the laptop of Ramgen.
“They have motive because they want to harass Janelle, put mental stress para hindi na tumestigo,” claimed he.
Manahan’s camp “[is] planning to file a case of violation of the Anti-Voyeurism Act of 2009 against Ramgen's siblings” and “will ask the court to subpoena pertinent records relating to telecom and internet networks to determine the source of the sex video,” according to abs-cbnnews.com.
