KC Concepcion ecstatic over hitting 1-M mark on Twitter

Actress-host KC Concepcion is elated over what may well be her first huge feat for 2012: gaining more than a million followers on Twitter.

On Jan. 3, the Mega-daughter tweeted, “1M+?? Go fight, Tweeps! Thank you ALL for being a part of my life. You're the ♚ ♛ KINGS & QUEENS & PRINCES & PrInCESsES of my world!!! ♔ ♕”

She also re-tweeted a follower’s post—“@shaneelegis: Ang galing... what way to start the year, with A Million followers! This will truly be an exciting year!!!”—and added, “HELLO my tweeps!”

KC has 1,008,528 followers as of this writing.

Last year, several celebrities hit the one million mark, namely,Angel Locsin (1,301,254), Kris Aquino (1,144,155), Vice Ganda (1,241,370), and Angelica Panganiban (1,033,132). In early 2011, TV host-actress-recording artist Anne Curtis became the first Filipino to reach one million followers. She’s apparently the most followed local celebrity on the social networking site, with 2,134,905 followers as of this writing.

Other highly followed Filipino celebrities on Twitter include Bianca Gonzalez (984,823), Iya Villania (939,840), Luis Manzano (915,082), Lea Salonga (724,893), Charice (662,611), Nikki Gil (680,384), and Ruffa Gutierrez (645,927).

Filipinos are apparently a huge force in cyberspace, as they are among the top 10 Twitter users worldwide, according to a recent study by ComScore Inc., as cited in an abs-cbnNEWS.com report.

Meanwhile, after weeks of absence due to commitments and other personal matters, KC will resume her hosting chores on “The Buzz” on Jan. 8.

The show’s head writer, Darla Sauler, tweeted on Jan. 5, “Abangan ang pasabog ni KC Concepcion, live na live, sa #TheBuzz ngayong Sunday!”

KC hosts “The Buzz” with Boy Abunda, Toni Gonzaga, and Charlene Gonzales.
