Carmina Villaroel is 'friends' with BB Gandanghari

Although she found it quite hard to search for the “correct” term to describe their relationship, actress-TV host Carmina Villaroel eventually revealed that she’s “friends” with ex-husband Rustom Padilla, now known as BB Gandanghari.
All these years, Villaroel has been plagued for comment about Padilla's coming out of the closet, which happened during his participation in the first “Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Celebrity Edition” in 2006. The returning Kapamilya actress, however, had kept mum on the matter.

But, in a live interview on the Jan. 22 episode of “The Buzz,” Villaroel has finally spoken up that she has no ill feelings towards Padilla despite being put on the spotlight because of his confession.
She began her side of the story by saying that prior to coming out via the reality show, Padilla has already informed her in advance of his "status."
“Kung lahat ng tao ay nagulantang sa kanyang sinabi, ako, hindi na,” she revealed.
“Nagkita kami before siya sumali ng ‘PBB.’ Naging okay naman kaming dalawa. Nag-usap kaming dalawa. Okay na,” said the 36-year-old actress.
According to her, the conversation was unexpectedly easy, as if they’ve been friends for a long while.
“Ang cute lang. Parang lang kaming magkaibigan lang talaga. ‘Yung tawa lang kami nang tawa, parang medyo kinda weird pero hindi,” shared Villaroel.
She explained that for her part, the reason it wasn’t difficult for her to go face-to-face with him then was because she had already moved on. At that time, Villaroel was already in a relationship with TV host-actor Zoren Legaspi, with whom she had twins, Cassandra and Maverick.
“Maybe because wala nang galit sa puso ‘ko, happy na ako sa buhay ‘ko so parang right timing lang talaga,” said the actress.
As to keeping things quiet for almost seven years now, the former “Palibhasa Lalake” star explained that it was her personal choice.
“It’s always our choice either to shut up or speak up. Kung ano man ‘yung hindi magandang nangyari sa amin, sa amin na lang ‘yun. Pero pinaalam ‘ko sa publiko na tapos na, nangyari na,” she enthused.
But when asked to react about Padilla’s decision, Villaroel replied, “Basta sa akin kung ano ang gusto mong gawin, kung ano ang makakapagpaligaya sayo, go for the gold! Basta wala ka namang inaapakang tao, gawin mo, ‘di ba?”
In the end, Villaroel, who is slated to start a new talk show in ABS-CBN together with Janice de Belen in February, said she hopes to have a one-on-one interview with Padilla soon.
