KC Concepcion thrilled with her SEA Games experience
KC Concepcion proudly represented the country as performer at the 26th Southeast Asian (SEA) Games held Nov. 11 in Palembang, Indonesia. She sang the sporting event’s theme song “Together We Will Shine” with “Malaysian Idol” winner Jaclyn Victor and Indonesian superstar Agnes Monica.
"These are things na hindi natin ine-expect, ‘di ba? It's so nice because talagang may mga balita dito sa Pilipinas na hindi naman talagang nakakapagpabuti sa loob ng mga Pilipino. So in our own little way, gusto mong mapa-smile ang ibang mga Pinoy hindi lang dito pero kahit abroad,” she said live on “The Buzz” on Nov. 13.
“I was so proud to be Pinoy sa lahat ng pinuntahan ko... I always talked about the Philippines sa Clinton dinner tsaka sa mga nakilala ko don, talagang pinagmamalaki ko ang Pilipinas in every way that I could,” the “Buzz” co-host said.
While KC’s lips remains sealed on her real score with Piolo, her father, veteran actor Gabby Concepcion, generously related his two cents on the issue.
In a recent interview with PEP, the former matinee idol reiterated his support for KC, saying, “I’m always behind her.”
Although he’s heard of rumors that KC and Piolo have split up or that their relationship is on the rocks, he has yet to find out the truth of the matter.
"Hindi naman sa nakikialam ako. Pero kung meron siyang [KC] gustong sabihin, baka puwede ko siyang bigyan ng advice kung hihingi siya. Pero siyempre, private issue ‘yun, eh. Nag-usap kami one time about that, pero wala, nagtatanong lang siya in general,” he related.
Though he appeared quite evasive about the issue, Piolo said in a recent interview that he and KC are “good.”
Gabby deems the same, saying, "Mukhang okay naman sila. Siyempre, habang dumaraan ang bawat araw, hindi natin alam kung may improvement. Sila lang ang nakakaalam no'n."
On speculations that Piolo had made his daughter cry, Gabby said it is normal for relationships to go through rough roads sometimes.
“Hindi natin maiiwasan ‘yun. And in a relationship, you always have to work on it… Better to have loved than never to have loved at all,” said he.
If KC goes to him for advice, Gabby said, “Palagi naman siyang nanghihingi ng advice. But the ultimate decision is hers. Siyempre, I trust her decision. You know, 'Think before you decide. Follow your heart above all.' And she's old enough naman to decide on what's good and what isn't. What's good for her and what's not."
