Lack of Friends Shortens Life
Having a large number of friends may save your life. A new study show that men with serious problems who have few family members or friends may be in danger of dying at young age. The life events most strongly linked to dying were serious concerns about a family member, being forced to move, feelings of insecurity at work, serious money problems and being the target of legal action. The researchers say that such problems may lower a person's ability to fight disease if that person lacks close relationships with other people. Other experts say friends and family can help reduce the worry and fear that result from serious life problems. They can help a person see a problem differently so that it seems less threatening. Also they might provide solutions to the problem the person had not thought about. Or simply the fact that they care about the person may be enough to make situation less bad.
