Zsa Zsa, Dolphy Shelve Marriage Plan
The much-awaited union of longtime partners Dolphy and Zsa Zsa Padilla will no longer happen.
This is according to the singer-actress herself as she talked about the King of Comedy’s current health condition.
“Siguro kahit paano you’d been hearing rumors, the past years have been very difficult with my family. Alam naman nila na si Dolphy, aside from being 83 years old, he’s not in the pink of health,” the “Budoy” actress said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Zsa Zsa, who has been Dolphy’s partner for over two decades, stressed that she has given up the idea of marrying her daughters’ (Nicole and Zia) father.
With Dolphy’s ailing health, Zsa Zsa admitted that there are still disbelievers questioning her love for the veteran comedian. According to the actress, there are those claiming that she is only after Dolphy’s money.
“Ang daming nagsabi na, ‘O tuloy na ang pangarap niya, talagang pera lang ‘yan blah blah.’ Masakit sa akin because all my life I’ve been working and the few instances na hindi ako nagtrabaho, siguro nagbuntis lang ako tapos I went back to work. Kahit paano affected ako, aaminin ko, na iniisip sa akin ng tao ‘yung ganoon. Sa tagal ng pagsasama namin ay nabibigyan pa rin ng malisya at sasabihing ‘pera lang yan.’ So I just wanted to prove that [it’s wrong],” Zsa Zsa explained in the same ABS-CBN News interview.
The couple agreed that it would be better to keep their relationship as it is.
“Sa totoo lang dapat it should have been between the two of us kaya lang malalaki din ang pamilya niya and may complications na mangyayari. So we found it best na huwag na lang [magpasakal]. Kumbaga ‘tayo pa din naman. Nothing has changed and I’m still here, I’m still supporting you 100 percent’ at ganoon pa din siya. Emotionally binibigay niya ang best niya wala na akong mahihiling pa,” Zsa Zsa shared.
Though marriage is out of the picture now, Zsa Zsa vowed her undying love for Dolphy, embracing him through the good and bad times.
“I just realized na I miss Dolphy whenever I’m not with him. It has brought us closer. You know, we’ve been together probably 23 years this year. Ang tagal na, sa showbiz parang 100 million years ‘yan together. Pero maganda ang feeling na sa tagal ng pagsasama namin, you feel the need to be with this person. Parang ‘yung nag-uumpisa ang relationship ninyo, ganoon ang feeling ko. Honestly I would say I’m in love with him again,” she said.
Begging off to discuss further details about Dolphy’s current state of health, Zsa Zsa assured that her beau is out of the hospital.
“He’s hanging in there. Right now he’s home. He’s in good spirit and we do our best to take care of him,” she said.
