Maria Aragon practices PHL national anthem 'everyday' for Pacquiao-Marquez fight

Canadian Internet sensation Maria Aragon is apparently doing well in studying the Philippine national anthem that she will sing on Nov. 12 at the bout between Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez.
Aside from having memorized the "Lupang Hinirang," the young talented singer who impressed Lady Gaga earlier, practices "everyday para perfect 'yung Tagalog," as she told "Paparazzi Showbiz Exposed" in a live interview, Nov. 6.
Earlier, Maria has consulted the National Historical Commission (also known as the National Historical Institute) "to make sure that we're singing it properly." She apparently got a the thumbs-up from the commission for her rendition, as reported previously by Bomboradyo.
Being the Sarangani congressman's personal choice, he naturally has nothing but good words for the YouTube wonder. Manny told "TV Patrol" last August, "Maria Aragon, she's the one. Magaling 'yong bata. Magaling kumanta, may talent."
As for what can be expected of her rendition of the "Lupang Hinirang," Maria said in a separate Bomboradyo report, "I really [would] just keep it simple, especially since it's my first really big performance, singing the national anthem. I really want to sing it the way that they wrote it, and the way that it's meant to be [sung]. And also, just to make the Filipinos proud."
Another singer with Filipino blood, "American Idol" Season 10 finalist Thia Megia, will also perform in the Pacquiao-Marquez fight. She was assigned to sing the US national anthem, "Star-Spangled Banner."
After staying in the Philippines from July to September this year, Maria came back last Oct. 27 to fulfill some commitments, which included singing the remixed version of SM Supermalls' official holiday song, "SM Christmas ChriSMs Bop," as reported by abs-cbnNEWS.com.
Maria couldn't be more thrilled to revisit the country at the kick-off of the Christmas season.
“I know that Christmas is really important to every Filipino so it’s great to be back. I feel really happy because...I get to have a little bit of the feel of the Christmas in the Philippines since it starts really early,” she said in the abs-cbnNEWS.com report.
She's set to fly back to Canada on Nov. 7 before heading to Las Vegas, Nevada for the Pacquiao-Marquez match, she told "Paparazzi" in the same interview.
In spite of her busy schedule, Maria doesn't neglect her studies. She related that she's currently home schooled "so that it's easier for me to bring my homework whenever I go."
With all the accomplishments under her belt at age 11, Maria, who has one of the most popular renditions of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" on YouTube, still seems quite uncertain about her future plans.
"I really don't know yet [what I want to be when I grow up] pero I really want to learn more about music and read notes and take voice lessons," said she.
