Daniel keeps date open for marrying Heart
Brazilian model turned actor Daniel Matsunaga says marrying his girlfriend Heart Evangelista could possibly happen in two years’ time.
"Hindi ngayon. Focus kami sa trabaho first. Wala ngayon. Siguro mga two years [pa]. Hindi ko alam,” said the “Futbolilits” star in a report by PEP on Oct. 7.
"Pwede bukas, pwede ngayon, ‘di ba? Hindi ko alam. It depends," he even added.
"We always meet them. We always have a family gathering. We always have dinner. I always see them. They're very nice," he mused aloud.
Since the hunk actor’s entire family has been in the country since September for his sister’s birthday, Daniel was asked if his family has already met with the 26-year-old actress’ family.
Daniel said, "Oo! Many times." In fact, according to him their family has already dined at the Ongpauco family’s restaurant chain, Barrio Fiesta.
"They've tried it already. Masarap, sobrang masarap ang pagkain!" he quipped.
Meanwhile, with the huge tide of Brazilian models coming into the country embracing the Filipino culture, Daniel is not one to be left behind as he works his way in being genuinely Pinoy—starting with learning the Filipino language.
Daniel began with, “I'm Pinoy ngayon.”
"Kasi, I'm really doing, like ,a lot, you know? I'm really making an effort with studying [the Filipino language]. Mero'n akong [pinapasukang] school. Tatlong oras araw-araw. Tagalog lessons.Dati, meron ako school sa Makati Cinema Square. Ngayon, mero'n akong private tutor," enthused Daniel.
Asked on how much his Tagalog speaking skills has improved from all the lessons he’s taken, he noted, "Kasi dati, ‘di ba, wala ako talaga alam sa Tagalog? Ngayon naiintindihan ko na most Tagalog words," he shared.
Working with Heart again
The couple met in the set of the now defunct GMA-7 teleserye “Langit Sa Piling Mo,” which starred Heart opposite Mark Herras. As such, Daniel was asked if he hopes to work with Heart in another project.
"Gusto ko. Gusto ko! Gusto niya rin!” he blurted.
He, however, recognized that no matter how much they want it to happen, the decision would depend on their GMA bosses.
Nevertheless he remains positive about it. "We hope mabigyan kami ng project na kami ang magkasama. Kasi gusto ko talaga. ‘Yung first soap ko, yung ‘Langit Sa Piling Mo,’ it was with Heart.
"It was really nice, doon kami nagkakakilala. And it would really be nice kung magkakasama kami ulit. To have another project, ‘di ba?" he stated.
