President Aquino now on the steps of the "Terrace of the Presidents"

President Benigno S. Aquino's name was engraved on the step of the “Terrace of the Presidents” at Fordham University, joining the names of other 40 world leaders, including his mother, who were also conferred with an honorary Doctor of Law degree.

As a tradition, the university is carving into the steps the names of heads of state who have received honorary degrees from Fordham.
To date, the notable world leaders engraved on the terrace were George Washington, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Richard M. Nixon, and President Aquino's mother Corazon S. Aquino.

The President’s name was carved next to that of his mother, the late President Aquino.

Of the 40 world leaders, which came from 20 different countries and four different continents, there were other six names of former Philippine leaders engraved on the terrace, including, Fidel V. Ramos, Elpidio Quirino, Ramon Magsaysay, Carlos Garcia, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and her father Diosdado Macapagal
