New SALN requirement

Starting this year, all government officials and employees are required to include personal and family expenses incurred the previous year when they file their statements of assets, liabilities, and net worth (SALN) on or before April 30.
This was announced Wednesday by lawyer Sally Ranches Pitaca of the legal affairs office of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) in an interview over “Magsumbong sa Ombudsman” program aired over the Radyo ng Bayan.
Pitaca said government personnel are also instructed to include in their SALN the amount and sources of gross income and the amount of income taxes paid to the Bureau of Internal Revenue which was not previously covered by the old SALN form.

The new changes increase the number of SALN columns from five to eight.
The old form has only three separate columns to cover assets, personal, and other properties and liabilities.
Columns for business interest and identification of relatives in the government service were also retained in the new form.
